Mt. Palaypalay Mataas na Gulod National Park

Mt. Palay-palay is a 2,800 hectare National Park. Mts. Palaypalay/mataas na gulod National Park is very near Metro Manila and the CALABARZON thus, the area could be a recipient of population overspill from the Metropolis and nearby provinces. Its vicinity posis a threat to the Park's ecological balance. These consist of resource extractive activities such as cattle grazing, upland farming, charcoal making, collection of minor forest products and illegal cutting of trees especially in the 1960's..

 

Mt. Kanlaon Buffer Zone

Located in the central highlands of Negros, this mountain is home to various species of ferns, lichens, and orchids. It is also inhabited by numerious species of tropical birds. Among them are hundred endemic species of bleeding heart pigeons and the nearing to extinction, category of a Natural Park thorugh Presidental Proclamation No. 1005 on may 8, 1997. It forms part of the Western Visayas Biogeographic Zone and is an importante are for biodiversity conservation.

 

San Pablo City Water District (SPCWD)

a government owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) that is self-liquidating and autonomous from the local government, has been providing piped water service to the city since 1974. San Pablo City Water District has been the recipient of the following award: The most Efficient Management Control Practices, 2nd Highest Operational Performance, Highest Collection Efficiency and Most Outstanding Veteran Water District

 

Calatagan Mangrove Batangas City

A large sea bay with intertidal flats and mangrove forest (Balayan Bay), adjacent areas of fish and shrimp ponds, and the coastal wetlands of the Calatagan Peninsula to the west, are including Pagapas Bay. In Balayan Bay and the adjacent smaller Pagapas Bay, 900 meters. Approximately 50% of the original mangrove forest has been cleared for the contruction of fish and shrimp ponds. The west coast of outer edge of the reef is characterized by an intensive coral growth which is usually exposed at low tide. The reef flats are sandy with an abundant growth of sea grasses, and the innier reef near the lagoon is sandy and rocky.

 

Salikneta Farm (formerly known as Saliksik-Araneta)

it is located in some part of Luzon, in the City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. It is find one of the examples of agricultural land rich in different kinds of plants and animals that are well taken care of. Its total land are is 64 hectares of farm land owned by Gregorio Araneta University Foundation (now known as De La Salle Araneta University). The wide farmland is used for forestry and agricultural operations for student training purposes.

 

Brgy. Pta. Taytay, Bacolod City 

 

Barangay Pta. Taytay is a coastal barangay and one of the few remaining fishing villages of Bacolod City.  It occupies an approximate area of 76.16 hectares.  It is gifted with a beautiful coastline accentuated by scenic beaches.  The barangay has 2 sites dedicated for mangrove rehabilitation. These are Purok Seawall  and Purok Bayanihan 2 .   

 

 

 

                            USLS Ecopark Granada Campus

 The USLS ecopark is located at Barangay Granada in Bacolod City.  It is envisioned to be a living laboratory for students to learn ecology and the environment.  It is a site for trees endemic to Negros and the Philippines for conservation.  It is also a bird and insects’ sanctuary.  The ecopark contains around 20 endemic tree species, 11 butterflies species, 6 ants species.

 

 

                                            Bago City 

Bago City is in the fourth district of Negros Occidental, particularly in the western part of Negros Island, 123 degrees longitude, 10 degrees latitude.  It is 21.5 Kms. from Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental.  The city is composed of five coastal barangays, namely; Brgy. Poblacion, Brgy. Sampinit, Brgy. Taloc, Brgy. Lag-asan and  Brgy. Calumangan.  The OMT planting site is located at Purok Pta. Playa, Brgy. Poblacion.
