De La Salle University - Dasmariñas Tree Planting (November 05, 2009)

A total of 825 propagules  ( 800 Rhizopora sp. and 25 Avicenna sp.)  Were contributed to the One Million Trees and Beyond Projectby the University Faculty ResearchCouncil (UFRC) of  De La Salle University – Dasmarinas last November 5, 2009 at Brgy. Sta.Ana in Calatagan, Batangas.  The UFRC is La Salle Dasma’s highest governing body in the area of faculty research. The activity was conducted in coordination with the Environmental Resource Management Center (ERMaC) of DLSU-D, the Lasallian Institute For the Environment (LIFE) and the Samahan ng Maliliit na Mangingisda ng Calatagan (SAMMACA). 

Dr. Jacqueline Morta, chair of the UFRC and director of the University Faculty Research Office said “Environmental protection and conservation is one of the primary research thrusts of DLSU-D.  It is only imperative that we support the One Million Trees and Beyond Project of De La Salle.  The UFRC is committed to plant trees every year up to 2011 to support these efforts”.
