The One Million Trees and Beyond (OMTB) Champions held its One La Salle Planning Workshop for year 2009 to 2011 at De La Salle Tagaytay Villa on April 14 – 15, 2009.
There were 21 OMTB participants in the workshop from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. They were Noemi Velario and Sonia Lusong (DLSU-Araneta), Jess Duero (DLS-ASMC), Terai Barcoma (USL-Bacolod),) Beth Pedro (DLSU-CSB), Engrs. Mar Moraga and Leland Llamazares (DLSU-Canlubang), Cherry Pareja and Jethro Arsenio (DLSU-Dasma), Cecil Tirona (DLS-HSI), Loi Buendia (DLSU-Iligan), Elena Tabat (DLSU-JBC),Christy Arcega and Bernard Lunar (DLS-LIPA) , Ver Antiqueno (LSGH), Joey Rosal (DLSU-M), Angie Brazan and Shirley Cruz (DLS-Zobel), Wovi Villanueva, Ging Sison (LIFE Volunteers) and Jorge Buenaventura (OMTB Project Director).
Ben Eusebio, LIFE Executive Director, delivered an inspirational message to the OMTB Champions and thanked them for actively participating in the project. After the plenary session, the OMTB Council, represented by its Chairman, Jing Warren recognized the achievements of the participating schools in 2008 and for their relentless commitment in the tree planting activities and their nurturing efforts.
As stewards of God’s creation, the One Million Trees and Beyond is committed to participate in the protection of the environment and instill in everyone the values of the right to live. The group is also committed to plant and nurture 1 Million Trees by 2011 and beyond.
